Tandem skydivers in the sky

Got a question about the Tandem Skydive? You might just find your answer here.

Registration

  • How do I register to do a skydive for Breakthrough T1D?

To sign up, just press the “book your jump” button on the Tandem Skydive page. This will take you through to our booking page.

  • Where can I do my jump?

There are 19 airfields across the UK to choose from. You can find the full list and details of each location on the Skyline Skydiving site.

  • Are there any restrictions on who can take part?

You must be 16 or over on the day of your skydive to take part. Those aged 16-17 must also have a parental consent form to take part.

A few of the airfields do have an upper age limit and weight restrictions, so be sure to check this before booking.

  • I have T1D, can I take part?

In most cases, it is fine for people with T1D to take part in a skydive, but we would recommend consulting your doctor before booking.

All participants will be required to bring a medical consent form with them on the day of their jump. Those living with T1D, or a number of other medical conditions, will need an additional form signed by a doctor.

Your jump

  • What happens on the day?

You will be given an arrival time once you have been booked in with the airfield. You will receive full training before being taken up for you jump. Be sure to wear something comfortable and lace-up shoes.

  • Can I change my airfield location?

Yes, but this must be done at least four weeks before your jump date and will be dependent on availability at your new chosen location on that day.

  • What if I need to cancel or change my jump date?

If you know you need to cancel or change, contact Skyline directly on myskydive@skylineevents.co.uk as soon as possible.

You will be able to cancel or reschedule for free as long as it’s more than four weeks before your skydive date.

Costs and fundraising

  • How much does it cost?

To secure your booking, you’ll just need to pay a £70 deposit. After that, we ask you to raise a minimum of £450 in sponsorship, and we’ll cover the cost of your jump.

If you’d prefer, you can also pay for the jump yourself. That means there’s no minimum fundraising target. Jump costs vary depending on the airfield, but they’re usually around £300 in total, including your deposit.

  • How do I raise money?

When you register for your skydive with Breakthrough T1D, a member of our friendly Events Team will be in touch with your welcome email, which will include more information on how to raise funds.

We would always recommend using an online giving platform, such as JustGiving, as an efficient and safe way to gather donations from your family and friends. A link to set up your page will be included in your welcome email.
