Investigating the Relationship Between Glucose Levels and Eating Behaviours in Type 1 Diabetes
You could help researchers explore whether there are links between certain glucose levels, insulin treatment types, and eating behaviours to help inform future support options.

Does timing matter for therapies to prevent beta cell destruction? – Dr James Pearson’s Root Causes Programme Grant project
Evidence has shown that immune cells in our body have different abilities throughout the day. This research study is looking to understand these changes and identify when best to target the immune cells so that the success of any future therapies can be improved.
To get involved in this study, please contact the research nurses for further information: Shinto Jose (joses8@cardiff.ac.uk) and Alex Howell (howella4@cardiff.ac.uk).
Glucose lowering actions of hormone Alpha-MSH
You could help researchers investigate if and how alpha-MSH (a natural hormone) can reduce blood sugar levels. Which could potentially lead to new treatments for type 1 diabetes.
For more information, and to get involved please visit the study webpage.
Could breaking up sitting improve heart health in people with type 1 diabetes using hybrid closed-loop insulin pumps?
You could help researchers understand how active breaks (short walks every 30 mins) might help improve heart health in people with type 1 diabetes.
Please email Joseph Jenkins at jgj301@student.bham.ac.uk for more information or how to get involved.
How regular activity can affect type 1 diabetes (EXTOD-Active)
Could you help researchers see if taking short active breaks can improve glucose management and wellbeing in people with type 1 diabetes who spend most of their day sitting down?
Please email extod.active@gmail.com for more information or to sign up.

Experiences of perimenopause and menopause in women with diabetes
Could you help researchers understand if/how diabetes changes peri/menopause affects diabetes, and if/how diabetes affects the peri/menopause? This will allow the researchers to identify examples of good clinical practice and gaps in health services.
