Liverpool Discovery Day Event Crew

What will I be doing?

• Helping us set up the venue before attendees arrive. 
• Welcoming and registering attendees when they arrive and handing out event resources. 
• Helping attendees find their way around the venue and answering any questions they might have. 
• Helping to keep the venue clean and tidy throughout the day. 

What skills or experience do I need?

• Positive, friendly attitude to help attendees feel welcome when they arrive. 
• Willing to be part of a busy team in an active role. 
• Organised and adaptable to change – your role might change throughout the day. 

Please note: in the interests of maximising charity funds, we prioritise volunteers who are based near to the event venue.

Date: Saturday 14 March 2026 

Time: 8.30am-2pm 

Where will I be based?

The Breakthrough T1D Liverpool Discovery Day will take place at: 

The Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, Liverpool L3 5QB 

What training and support will I receive?

• We’ll send you a copy of our Volunteer Handbook, which will give you all the information you’ll need to know about volunteering with us. We’ll also ask you to sign and return a copy of our Volunteer Agreement, which sets out what we’ll do to support you, and what we expect from you, during your time volunteering with us.
• We’ll invite you to a virtual briefing to meet the team and go through the event details, including your role for the day.
• We’ll give you a volunteer information pack, which includes a reminder of the timings; details of anything you need to bring with you; and the name and contact details of a member of Breakthrough T1D staff who will be able to answer any questions you have.
• We’ll make sure you have all the resources you need while you volunteer at the Discovery Day, and we’ll give you a Breakthrough T1D t-shirt to wear (you can keep your t-shirt afterwards).
• We’ll send you an expense form for you to claim back any out-of-pocket expenses (please see our volunteer expenses policy in the Volunteer Handbook).
