Got a question about the Diabetes Awareness Skydive? You might just find your answer here.
To sign up, just press the “book your jump” button on the Diabetes Awareness Skydive page. This will take you through to our booking page.
No. While we would love as many people as possible to register in June to mark Diabetes Awareness Week, the airfields do offer skydives all year round.
If you’re not available in June but would still like to do the jump another time, just email us and we can send you a different booking link.
There are 19 airfields across the UK to choose from. You can find the full list and details of each location on the Skyline Skydiving site.
You must be 16 or over on the day of your skydive to take part. Those aged 16-17 must also have a parental consent form to take part.
A few of the airfields do have an upper age limit and weight restrictions, so be sure to check this before booking.
In most cases, it is fine for people with T1D to take part in a skydive, but we would recommend consulting your doctor before booking.
All participants will be required to bring a medical consent form with them on the day of their jump. Those living with T1D, or a number of other medical conditions, will need an additional form signed by a doctor.
You will be given an arrival time once you have been booked in with the airfield. You will receive full training before being taken up for you jump. Be sure to wear something comfortable and lace-up shoes.
Yes, but this must be done at least four weeks before your jump date and will be dependent on availability at your new chosen location on that day.
If you know you need to cancel or change, contact Skyline directly on myskydive@skylineevents.co.uk as soon as possible.
You will be able to cancel or reschedule for free as long as it’s more than four weeks before your skydive date.
You will need to pay a £75 deposit to secure your booking. You must then raise £450in sponsorship and Breakthrough T1D will cover the cost of your jump.
You will also have the option to pay your own jump costs, meaning you won’t have a set sponsorship target and anything you raise will go straight to Breakthrough T1D’s life-changing type 1 diabetes research. Jump costs vary depending on the airfield, but are usually around £300 (including the deposit)
When you register for your skydive with Breakthrough T1D, a member of our friendly Events Team will be in touch with your welcome email, which will include more information on how to raise funds.
We would always recommend using an online giving platform, such as JustGiving, as an efficient and safe way to gather donations from your family and friends. A link to set up your page will be included in your welcome email.
