Volunteer role

One Walk Bristol Event Crew

One Walk Event Crew volunteers help us create an inspiring day for members of the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community. From helping us get set up and welcoming walkers as they arrive, to cheering them along the route and celebrating their achievement as they finish the walk, your support will help us raise awareness about living with T1D, and vital funds for life-changing research.

What will I be doing?

There are various roles available on the day, including

  • Setting up in the Event Village before walkers arrive.
  • Welcoming walkers as they arrive, registering them and handing out their Breakthrough T1D tshirts. Leading or stewarding the walkers along the route to make sure they’re going in the right direction and cheering them on to keep them motivated.
  • Looking after the merchandise stall or handing out information about Breakthrough T1D.
  • Handing out finishers’ medals and refreshments when walkers return to the Event Village at the end of their walk.
  • Helping us pack everything away at the end of the event.

Optional: Before the event, we’d love it if you could support the local marketing in the run-up to the event, by sharing flyers and posters with organisations and businesses in your local community.
