The T1D Ambassadors stage of the programme is for young people aged 11-16, who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
When you become a T1D Ambassador, we’ll ask you to do some tasks to tell other people about living with T1D, and about the work we do at Breakthrough T1D to support people just like you. We’ll ask you to hold a fundraising event, and invite you to online T1D Ambassador meetings where you can meet other T1D Ambassadors.
You’ll get a Welcome Pack with information to help you do your tasks, and we’ll spend time in our online meetings talking about the skills you’ll need, such as making presentations. When you’ve done all your tasks, you’ll get a T1D Ambassadors certificate, and we’ll write you a reference about your volunteering that you can use for college or job applications.
