You’ll aim to complete 400,000 steps over 40 days. That’s 10,000 steps a day, but you can break it up in a way that works for you.

There’s no minimum fundraising target. Raise what you can as every pound helps fund life-changing type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and support.
Your fundraising helps fund research into cures, treatments and prevention of type 1 diabetes (T1D), and supports people living with T1D across the UK.
Yes. It’s a virtual challenge, so you can join from wherever you are and complete your steps in a way that suits you.
Yes. You can take on the challenge with friends, family or colleagues and support each other along the way.
Use whatever suits you best – a smartphone app, smartwatch, fitness tracker, or pedometer. We’ll also send you a simple paper tracker to log your daily steps.
Anything that gets you moving counts – walking, running, hiking, or even dancing around your kitchen.
That’s okay. The target is there to guide you, not pressure you. Go at your own pace. Miss a day? Just pick it back up when you can.
Absolutely. Around 10,000 steps is roughly equal to 5 miles. You can aim for that or adjust the distance to suit what feels right for you.
Yes. Small moments add up. A quick walk, pacing during calls, or taking the long way round can all help you build your total.
