Home > Shaping clinical trial participation in type 1 diabetes
Clinical trials are an essential part of the research process. Without them, we cannot bring breakthroughs, such as new therapies or technologies for T1D, to the people who need them.
At the moment, we are looking for researchers and healthcare professionals who work in the T1D space and/or support people living with, and affected by, T1D.
We want to understand the role patient-facing healthcare professionals play in supporting and signposting potential participants to clinical trials, and what support they need in order to do this.
We also want to understand the role T1D researchers and research clinicians play in participant recruitment, and what factors impact the set-up, running and recruitment to, clinical trials.
You will attend a 90-minute, online focus group with seven to nine other participants.
The focus groups will take place in January/February 2026 (the date will be confirmed based on your availability).
More information on the process can be found here:

If you’re interested in taking part, please complete one of the forms below by Wednesday 10 December 2025:
Apply as a researcher Apply as a healthcare professional
The form contains questions about you, your professional experience and your work in the T1D space. It should take approximately five minutes to complete. If we receive a lot of responses, we may use your answers as part of a selection process. This is to ensure we gather insights from a diverse group with different experiences.
Thank you for your interest in this project.
