Young girl chatting to an adult about her type 1 diabetes technology at a Breakthrough T1D UK youth ambassador event

The T1 Ambassadors stage of the programme is for young people aged 11-16, who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

What happens?

When you become a T1 Ambassador, we’ll ask you to do some tasks to tell other people about living with T1D, and about the work we do at Breakthrough T1D to support people just like you. We’ll ask you to hold a fundraising event, and invite you to online T1 Ambassador meetings where you can meet other T1 Ambassadors.

What will I get?

You’ll get a Welcome Pack with information to help you do your tasks, and we’ll spend time in our online meetings talking about the skills you’ll need, such as making presentations. When you’ve done all your tasks, you’ll get a T1 Ambassadors certificate, and we’ll write you a reference about your volunteering that you can use for college of job applications.

How do I sign up?

Ask your parent or guardian to fill in the form below.
