The Yorkshire Three Peaks (Y3P) trek is one of the UK’s most popular challenges.
Starting from Horton-in-Ribblesdale, particpants tackle Ingleborough (2,372ft) as the first peak, then Whernside (2,415ft) and Pen-Y-Ghent (2,277ft), finishing back at Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
You don’t need any specific skills or experience – you just need to be friendly and enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude. We’ll give you all the information you’ll need before you start your role.
Our Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge starts from Horton-In-Ribblesdale and there will be a halfway point at Ribblehead Viaduct.
We will send exact location details to you in advance of the event.
Date: Saturday 03 May 2025.
We are looking for volunteers to help with participant registration and we ask you to arrive for a volunteer briefing at 5.45am before participants set off at 6.30am. We will then pack up to move over to the halfway point and we anticipate this will be finished by 7.30am.
We are also looking for volunteers to help at the halfway point and we ask you to arrive for a volunteer briefing at 11am as participants will arrive at around 12 noon. We will pack away ready to leave when all participants have passed by the halfway point. We anticipate this will be approximately 1pm.
You can, of course, volunteer at both the start of the trek and the halfway point if you’d like to.
You will be provided with full volunteer information, including a reminder of the timings, maps to where you need to be, what to bring with you and more. Our Challenge & Sports Events team members will also be on hand to provide additional information and can arrange briefing calls if required.
On the day, there will be at least two members of Breakthrough T1D staff managing the event. They will be your main contacts and their names and contact details will be provided in your volunteer briefing document nearer the time.
You will also be gifted a free Breakthrough T1D t-shirt to wear while you’re volunteering with us, and this will be available for you to collect when you arrive.
