Advances from research are only meaningful when people with type 1 have access to them.
In April 2022 Breakthrough T1D UK published Research to Reality – Accelerating access for new diabetes treatments. This report sets out a new way of approaching type 1 diabetes within the UK’s Research and Development landscape, and centres the voice of people living with the condition. This report is the result of extensive consultation with stakeholders across the type 1 diabetes sector, including with regulators, researchers, the NHS and people affected by type 1 diabetes.
Together we identified some of the challenges facing the progress towards pioneering new treatments and cures. We also identified opportunities for accelerating access to new treatments and technologies.
