The Type 1 Diabetes Schools Pack provides parents, carers, teachers, and school staff with the information needed to understand type 1 diabetes (T1D) and support children and young people, both in school and when visiting friends’ homes. It is available as an e‑download, and the hard‑copy version comes in an A5 folder.
A 20‑page guide that explains the key facts about T1D, outlines the symptoms of hypos and hypers and how to respond if a child or young person’s blood glucose levels become too high or too low. It also provides guidance on managing T1D during the school day and across different school activities including links to additional resources.
12‑page guide that provides key facts about T1D, and practical tips for hosting a child or young person living with the condition during playdates, meals, or sleepovers.
A small, concertina‑style card for children and young people to fill in and keep with them. It includes space to write down important information such as the diabetes devices they use, location of their blood‑testing kit and hypo treatments, signs of a hypo, and key emergency contacts.
An A4 card containing a script and step‑by‑step instructions for a short play, designed to help teachers support children and young people in learning about T1D.
