Why Breakthrough T1D and why the Tea Party?

“My family and I are long-time supporters of Breakthrough T1D; my sister, brother, brother-in-law and niece are all type one diabetic and have been for between four and 25 years. We try to arrange a fundraising event as often as we can to raise funds for Breakthrough T1D; in the past we have organised a family fun day at the local village hall and taken part in half marathons and mud races.

The Breakthrough T1D Tea Party was a great excuse to get all of our family and friends together in the garden on a lovely Sunday afternoon as well as encouraging everyone, no matter their age, to help with the event by baking. We had bakers ranging from 10 to 83 years old and we raised just shy of £1,400!”
