About the event

Competing in sport at the highest level is an incredible feat, demanding extraordinary talent and resilience. Achieving this while living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a whole new level of impressive. Now is your chance to hear first-hand from the individuals breaking down barriers to do just that.

This June, join us for an exclusive panel event featuring some of the UK’s top current and former sports professionals living with T1D. They’ll share their stories – the highs, the lows and how they’ve overcome the challenges presented by T1D to reach the top of their game.

Secure your ticket for a rare opportunity to hear how these amazing individuals from a range of sports have pushed past limits to prove that living with T1D doesn’t hold you back.

Your ticket to this very special evening includes a drinks reception with canapés, both before and following the panel discussion.

Our line-up of sports stars

Joining us on the panel are:

  • Gary Mabbutt, former England and premiership footballer (Tottenham Hotspur and Bristol Rovers) and the first professional footballer with T1D.
  • Jess Shaw, current member of the England Netball Team.
  • Jordan Thompson, professional cricketer at Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
  • Chris Pennell, former rugby union player for the Worcester Warriors.
  • Muhammad ‘DK’ Ali, professional boxer.
  • Luke Sutton, former professional cricketer whose two children live with T1D.

This one-of-a-kind event will not only educate and inspire but help us raise vital funds to advance life-changing T1D research, expand access to treatments and technologies and provide support to the T1D community.

To help us raise as much as possible for T1D research, the evening will feature a fabulous raffle with a range of brilliant prizes to be won.

Tickets and further information available soon.
